Bloodclaws Pack #11

Image
Paint is finally on these fellows, and progress continues. Working on the faces and chain swords, currently, then I'll move onto the bolt pistols, clean up any fur bits and hair. Finalize the shoulder pads, then throw a backpack on them. More to come.

Bloodclaws Pack #10

When building out a list you often build out the exact number of warriors to fit that list. Sometimes it means you don't build out round numbers, for example 10 or twenty men units. That being said, I find myself short three (3) Bloodclaws to make a round pack of twenty (20). So I quickly threw these together. More to come.

Bloodclaws Pack #9

Bloodclaws pack has 6 more additions. Not much work left to do on these fellows. With the addition of the new Space Wolves Transfers sheet, I will finish them off properly, maybe do a small tutorial on MicroSol and MicroSet.

Bloodclaws Pack #8

Backpacks completed on the final few Bloodclaws.   Just the shoulder pads left to do.   While I was waiting for the yellow wash to dry on the  shoulder pads, I thought I would quickly throw together a Frost Cannon, plays as a Plasma Cannon. Wh at do you think of a Frost Cannon on a Long Fang? Rumor says a new Wolf Supplement is coming, so finger crossed this might be coming?

Bloodclaws Pack #7

I have completed the first of my Wolfguard Pack Leader for my Bloodclaws. He's essentially the sergeant of this squad. I am still deciding over what back pack to use for him, i.e. should I use a banner pole or the servo skull, mainly because I am thinking  I might double this as a Sergeant in a Destroyer squad for 30k. Now it's off to complete the rest of the Bloodclaws pack.

Final Detailing on the Bloodclaws pack is nearly finished. Just finishing the fine details and the bolt pistols. Hopefully the next time you see these folks, they'll be done.

Bloodclaws Pack #5

The Wolfguard Pack leaders for the Bloodclaws pack are nearly complete. I just have to finish the shoulder guards on the first sergeant. The second sergeant still needs some work on this should guards, shield, wolf claw gauntlet and  claw on the pelts. More to come.

Bloodclaws Pack #4

The final five (5) Bloodclaws are on their way to completion. Base colors, Golds and Yellows are all on their way. I also have started to lay down the flesh. More to come.

Bloodclaws Pack #3

Whilst working on the 30k Consul Wolf Priest, I worked on the Wolf Guard Pack Leaders for the Blood Claw pack. I still need to go back in and apply Vallejo Shade Sepia wash on the hair and gold portions. Fix the teeth talismans, finish the storm shield. Highlight the brass back up to a gold. Points on the hair. Fix the yellow on the shoulder pads. Probably a bit more work needs to happen to the second Wolf Guard  While I was at it, I realized that I should round out my pack to a solid twenty Blood Claws. So I quickly threw this lot together.     Stay tuned for further progress.

Bloodclaws Pack #2

Further additions to the Bloodclaws Pack. Wolf Guard Battle Leaders, and the last remaining Bloodclaw (he got lost under all the piles of clutter!)   Basecoats are down (Vallejo Game Air Sombre Grey) with a highlight (Vallejo Game Air Wolf Grey).     Gold highlighting on the torso and shield has been started, Vallejo Game Color Brass. Lightning Claws and Storm Shield have initial colors. And his base is about done, just have to clean up the bevel and add some snow effects.     The other Wolfguard has the initial colors down too.      I have to clean up the fist on the Lightning Claw. Tidy up the yellows, tighten up the golds.     And finally the black sheep Bloodclaw, lost under all my hobby projects.   More progress to come.

Painting Update #10

Continued work on Harald's cloak continues. A new coat of Vallejo Game Color Magenta as base, and first highlight coat of Vallejo Opaque Heavy Red.     With the backpack attached.     I still need to finish the backpack, final highlights on the cloak and proper highlighting of his face. Not a simple dry-brush, but layering of successive  highlights. After that, Harald should be ready to hit the table.

Bloodclaws Pack #1

So back in September I posted some quick "work in progress" on my Bloodclaw pack. Suffice to say, the pack is one step closer to Tabletop ready!   It has taken a while, and I will have to say that all those embellishments that make the character of the Space Wolves do really take time and a half to paint, compared to a normal marine.   So with that being said, I have finally gotten them up to a "tabletop" standard. Or better than a 3-color minimum. I will continue to tidy them up over the next few painting sessions, but here they are.   First up, my two claws with flamers. The intention with the list is to have two smaller Bloodclaw packs, each with a flamer.     And most of the rest of the rabble, all of them running with chainswords and bolt pistols.      Next time I will fix a few bits, add some decals and some flock tufts.

Painting Update #9

Work on Harald Deathwolf continues. Yellows are being built up, the axe head mostly complete and the bear skin colors bedded in.   One issue I am having is with the Troll-King cloak. I am not sure if I am happy with how it is turning out. I might go back and do some extreme highlighting or mask it off and go with a turquoise.  Mind you, Harald does look pretty cool on his Thunderwolf.    I am wondering if I should trace some gold on the inside of the cloak.          The red on red is a little overwhelming. Or am I being a little pedantic ?   More to come, after I mull over the fate of the current Troll-King Cloak.

Painting Update #8

Image
Work continues on Harald. His Thunderwolf is now complete.     Then I added some Army Painter Tundra Tufts on the base, so it now fits with the other Thunderwolves.             One thing about this particular model is that it happens to be a little front heavy, mainly due to it being towards the front of the base. So I added a few pennies as counter weight.   More to come.

Painting Update #7

Work continues, somewhat slowly, on Harald. This time I finally managed to finish off the Mantle of the Ice Troll King. After a few failed attempts at finding a decent representation, I finally stumbled upon the Drake Cloak from maxmini.eu .   After a little finessing and some green stuff, the drake cloak fitted very nicely, in line with the existing cloak.   After priming the cloak, I go to work building up the reds.   First I  started with Vallejo Model Air Mahogany, then Vallejo Opaque heavy Red, followed by a Vallejo Game Air Light Red concentrating on the higher folds. Another layer of Vallejo Hot Orange, again focusing on the higher folds.            I still need to get stuck into the backpack. That's next on the to do list, after I get a shade wash into the scales of the drake cloak and highlight it back up. More to come on this one.
