Horus Heresy 30k - XII Legion World Eaters Anvillus Dreadclaw #2

So on the CK Studios course, they covered heat scorching methodology. And I practiced this on the Dreadclaw. Here are the results.

So how did I do it?
Well it is pretty simple, really. First up turn the pressure down on your air compressor around 15psi.
Grab some Sepia Ink, Daler Rowney or Dr Ph Martin's is perfect for this.  So when making a burn/scorch mark you need to start about two thirds (2/3) of the way down the area.

For the second step, I use purple ink and overlap the sepia, about 50:50 on the sepia, and the silver. Vallejo Game Ink Violet does the trick here.

Then the final step  is to use a blue. First tip, leave a small portion of the silver showing right at the "tip". Fill in the blue like the purple and make sure you leave a bit of the pure purple ring visible. I use Vallejo Game Ink Blue, and this is how it should turn out.

Just remember to lower your psi pressure and control your spray.

I will go back in after this, and edge highlight and chip the panel intersections with VMA Aluminium, maybe an oil paint ink wash or two, but really you can leave this effect as is.
